“Searching for the Standards on Archaeological Operational Databases in National Scale” (Abstract)

The presentation abstract from SDH2021: 19th International Symposium on Spatial Data Handling Sakarya, Turkey, August 13-14, 2021.

This research aims to discuss the optimal spatial database standards for archaeological operations in Turkey. The essential spatial database standards have been already determined by international and national organizations such as ISO, OGC, INSPIRE, TUCBS, TSE, and ministries. Additionally, various excavation projects have developed their own data standards based on their technical capabilities and scientific approaches. However, we desire to discuss optimized data and database model standards for more interoperable and sustainable archaeo-informatics operations.
